To enable history saving, go to your account settings in the Skype for Business or Lync client software. Open the program and log in to whichever version of Skype you’re using. The Conversation History folder will now contain all future communications. Outlook or OWA can be used to view this folder.
Open the chat with your desired deletion message on your Mac or PC. Right-click on the message (or click the three dots that appear beside it) and choose “Remove.” To confirm, hit “Remove” one more time in the popup window.
Deleted communications are no longer visible in your chat history. Your Skype chat history has been purged of all messages you or your contacts have deleted. All users’ conversations will be saved in the cloud beginning April 2017. In other words, all user-to-user and user-to-contact communications will be kept permanently in the cloud starting April
