You may delete your entire Tumblr account or any of the blogs you’ve created using it at any time. After deleting your Tumblr account, the user email address and blog URL you selected for the account will be removed from circulation.

You can’t remove your Tumblr account through the mobile app. Only the Tumblr website allows you to delete your account. When you cancel your membership, both of your primary blogs on Tumblr are also deleted. Your secondary blogs, in which you are the only contributor, are also removed at this time.

To remove a blog, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select “Delete [your blog’s name].” If it says “Delete everything” instead, you’re on your Primary blog — you can’t delete your Primary blog without terminating your account.

If you’ve been banned from Tumblr, your blog won’t be accessible via your Tumblr URL. When you log in, you may receive a notification that your account has been disabled, as well as an email explaining the circumstances and how to remedy them.

The policy on inactive accounts is that they are not deleted, but the team does examine accounts that have been unused for a long time. There’s also no option to transfer ownership of closed accounts to others–they can’t just be given away; rather, they may be sent to a friend.
