Simply put, you hold down the R and ps buttons at boot up to enter safe mode, then rebuild your Vita database.

Select (Options) > [Delete] to remove the data that has been previously saved. You’ll need a memory card* with save data to do so. For a PS Vita system, you must have a memory card inserted in your PCH-1000 series system.

The Settings app should open. To access the Settings menu, scroll left. nOpen the Settings menu by scrolling left. Select System Settings from the drop-down menu below. “Restore Default Settings” is one of the options listed here.

Unless something goes wrong with my system, the database restore is my last resort. Nothing should be touched, as it restores the whole system to fresh and reactivates all of your games. Unless something goes horribly wrong with my system, I will not rebuild it.

If you want to perform a factory reset, select “Restore the PS Vita System.” If you want to remove any personal information, game saves, or photographs, among other things, you’ll have to repeat this process and utilize the “Format Memory Card” option as well.
