It is not possible to unlink a Nintendo Account from a Switch console once it has been linked. To disconnect a Nintendo Account from a Nintendo Switch system, the relevant user account must be deleted as well. Data on a gaming device cannot be recovered unless it first gets backed up using the Save Data Cloud backup function.

Go to the User Info page and click Edit next to Linked Accounts. Delete the link for an NNID from your Nintendo Account by clicking the checkmark next to Nintendo Network ID after unloocking it.

Connect the Switch you wish to primary to the internet. Log in to your main Nintendo Account (that’s authorized for the eshop/downloaded games) and choose “deactivate console.”

Select “System Settings” from the HOME Menu. Choose it from the drop-down menu below “System.” All the way down at the bottom of the screen, pick “Formatting Options.” To erase all data from the system’s memory, select “Restore Factory Settings”.

Select “System Settings” from the HOME Menu. After that, scroll down to select “Users,” then choose the appropriate user account to access the Profile Settings. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and pick “Unlink Nintendo Account.” To disconnect your account, select “Confirm” and then “Unlink.”
