If you’re the one who created it, go to settings > account settings > General > deactivate. To be able to delete your profile, type in the password, then pick a reason and click DEACTIVATE.
If a third party established an account in your name:
Delete a profile by following these steps: Select the person. Click the flower or star in the right-hand corner of the screen, then “help,” and then “visit the help center.” Next, type “deceased user delete” into the search box. Then choose memorialize or remove an account.
There is no option four (at least not one that’s simple)
In California, for example, it is a misdemeanor to create a fake Facebook profile of a real person with the aim of injuring, frightening, threatening, or defrauding others. Up to a year in jail and $1,000 in fines are possible punishments if you’re convicted.
