Step Two: Click on the “Account” option present at the bottom of any page you view in Facebook. After doing so, click on “Privacy Settings.” When this page loads, you will be able to see a link called “Deactivate Your Account” (See image below).

Step Three: Clicking this link will prompt you with two options – Deactivating your account or Deleting your account. You may select either one and then follow the guidelines that display after selecting either option. While deactivation means that your profile is still active but only invisible to other people, deleting the fake profile gets rid of everything associated with it.

Step Four: After choosing either option, users are taken to a page where they can enter their password once again and then click on the respective button. This step seems a bit redundant, but is actually required since Facebook does not allow you to deactivate your account using someone else’s computer or an unauthorized device. Once that is done, your Facebook page will be deleted immediately and permanently in 20 days.

Step Five: After 20 days, the profile you specified will be permanently removed. Once this is done, your friends will stop seeing activity associated with it and they’ll no longer have the option of sending you friend requests.

If you have a personal account and delete it by mistake, there is no way to retrieve the data. Your photos, videos, status updates (if any) and everything else will be permanently erased without any chance of getting it back.

However, if your Facebook account is compromised due to hacks or other reasons, then certain methods can help in retrieving the hacked profile. For more information about how this works refer to: How Do I Know If My Facebook Account Has Been Hacked?

Step Six: Now that you know how to get rid of fake profiles on Facebook, feel free to share this guide with friends who are still confused as to how they should proceed! Also don’t forget to share your views about this topic by commenting below!

The first step in deleting an old Facebook account is to recover your password. You can try going to https:facebookcom/loginidentify in order find the account you’re looking for, or go to a trusted friend and plead with them to help you remember the password after they know it – sometimes this works. If there’s no way around getting your back on the site (and there usually isn’t), log into Facebook as if it were still five years ago, click delete my account and follow the steps from there.

If you discover someone is impersonating you on Facebook, go to the profile and click Report.

During the first quarter of 2018, Facebook removed 583 million fake accounts and deleted them on average after 11.7 days had passed.

If a user is following all the instructions for permanently deleting an account, then no one can access it.

Generally, Facebook reports are processed within 10 days. However, there are some unusual cases where it may take up to 2 or 3 weeks depending on the type of reason for deletion and how detailed your request is.
