Scroll down and select Account Ownership and Control below Your Facebook Information. Tap Deactivation and Deletion. Choose Deactivate Account, then Continue to Account Deactivation, and then follow the on-screen instructions to confirm your deactivation.

Simply go to Settings > Security > Deactivate Your Account in a web browser, or Settings > Account Settings > Security>Account Deactivate on an iPhone or Android device.

Scroll down and choose Settings from the drop-down menu. Tap Account Ownership and Control below Your Facebook Information in the left column. Tap Deactivation and Deletion in the bottom right corner. Select Deactivate Account, then Continue to Account Deactivation, and then Complete Deactivation. Confirm by following the on-screen directions.

Go to your Facebook account’s settings (by selecting the drop-down arrow in the upper right corner of the page). If Facebook doesn’t take you there by default, go to General Account Settings. Then, even if deactivation is fully reversible, Facebook will ask you whether you’re sure.

To remove Facebook, press the Windows key and type “Facebook.” Choose “Uninstall” from right-click menu on the Results bar. To delete the program from your computer, click the Uninstall button.
